
Ruth Weber Salvin Reuther, 100 years old, a Scranton and Lake Sheridan resident of 90 years, died Tuesday, January 9th at Solaris Health Center, Merritt Island, Florida. She is the widow of her husband Henry J. Salvin who was killed in action in WWII and her husband of 33 years, Eugene Reuther.
Born and educated in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late her parents, Henry and Ann (Naegle) Weber. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Nicholson, PA. She was a member of the Lake Sheridan Association and Factoryville Fire Co. Auxiliary. She is remembered by her family and friends for her warm smile, kind manner, and love of The Lake.
She is survived by a younger brother, Paul Weber; her daughters, Judith Long, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI and Jean Marie Stevenson (William), Merritt Island, FL; and son, Henry J. Salvin (Kathy), Dunmore, PA. Also, by six Granddaughters: Michelle Long Shore (Thomas), Casey Reina Riddle (Louis), Stacey Stevenson, Carly Reina Borchardt (Adam), Kristin Stevenson, and Alyxandra Bryndzia (Jeffrey Srack), along with nine Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Romaine Kafchinski; brothers: Peter, Carl, and Edmund Weber; and a son-in law, William Long.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 20th, at 10:00am in St. John Neumann Parish, Nativity Church, 633 Orchard Street., Scranton, PA 18505. Interment to follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
A visitation will be held Saturday from 9-9:45 am in the church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Corey Brian Strauch Services, LLC, funeral home location, 602 Birch Street, Scranton, PA 18505.
