Joan M. Simon
Joan Margaret Simon, 91, passed away peacefully March 7, 2017 in Glendale, AZ.
Born in Scranton, PA, Joan was the daughter of the late Theodore and Frances (Heim) Simon. Upon graduation from Scranton Technical High School, Joan began a 44 year railroad career working for the DL & W, Erie Lackawanna and Conrail Railroads. Joan retired to Sun City, AZ and was an active member of St. Clement’s guild. Aunt Joan had a talent for selecting unique gifts for her cherished nieces and nephews. Joan’s bright smile and generous loving spirit are fondly remembered by family and friends.
Surviving are a brother, Ted and wife, Lorraine (Webber) Simon of Vestal, NY; nephews Larry Herninko, Ted J. Simon (Jen); nieces Karen Blodgett (David), Mary Lee Driggs (Stan); grand nephews Eric and Daniel Simon, Joseph Driggs and grand nieces Ashley DiNinno (Dan), Melissa Driggs and Addie Simon.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Simon and sister, Rita Herninko.
Memorial services will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 20th at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Covington Twp. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to Hospice of the Valley, Phoenix, AZ. (www.hov.org)
