Dolores "Babe" Conte

Dolores “Babe” Jacobs Conte, a lifelong resident of Scranton passed away in her family home on Sunday, January 7, 2024.  She was the wife of the late  Frank P. Conte.  The couple had been married for 53 years.

She was the daughter of the late Walter and Anna Labinsky Jacobs. She attended Scranton Public Schools.  She was a member of St. Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Cathedral.  

She was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Jones as well as her niece Nancy McDonnell and nephew Danny Jones.

Surviving are her sisters-in-law Concetta Reilly and Regina Besack as well as nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Throughout her life, Babe enjoyed her weekly bowling outings in the CYC league, day trips with friends, excursions to the casinos, travel with her husband, and special birthdays and holidays with her family.  

The funeral will be Saturday with mass at 11:00am in the St. Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Cathedral, 529 E. Locust Street, Scranton, PA 18505. Interment will be private in the parish cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Corey Brian Strauch Funeral Home, Scranton.
