Catherine “Kay” A. McCauley Maslar, 84 a lifelong resident of Scranton died Tuesday evening in the Allied Hospice Center, Scranton. She is the widow of the late Robert J. Maslar who died Sept. 2014.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Hilbert and Martha Spreckler McCauley, she was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. She worked for Sauquoit Silk Mill in Scranton and was a member of St. Paul of the Cross Parish and worship at Sacred Heart Church, Scranton. She was a loving sister and aunt.
Surviving are sisters Clare McCauley, Scranton, Betty Schipp, Scranton; a brother Paul McCauley and wife Florence, Scranton and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters Rosemary Occhipinti and Ruth Flowers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30am in the St. Paul of the Cross Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 1221 Prospect Ave, Scranton, PA 18505. Interment to follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Oram Street, Scranton. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church for the funeral.
A visitation will be held Friday from 5-7pm in the Corey Brian Strauch Funeral Home, 602 Birch Street, Scranton, PA 18505.
