Ann L. Chesek

Ann L. Chesek, age 89, was called home by the Lord, June 14th, 2024. She passed away peacefully at her residence in Scranton, PA.

Born in Scranton, in 1934, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Helen Chesek. She attended Scranton Technical High School.

Ann retired from the PA Careerlink of Lackawanna County after 30 years of service. She was a kind person who was passionate about helping people get training and find employment. Some people will remember her as a professional photographer for Prestwood Photo Studio, previously. 

Ann enjoyed collecting and reading books about the history of Scranton. She liked researching and collecting different types of rock and minerals and collecting coins, an interest she shared with her father. She was a self-taught artist, with some impressive portraits to her credit. She especially enjoyed hosting family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are nephews, George Cavelius, and wife, Barbara, Elkridge, MD; Victor Cavelius, and wife, Kyle, Lansdale, PA; grand nieces and nephews, Joe, Andy, Heather, George, Ronald, Ciara, and Rayna

She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen, as well as her nephew, Joseph.

The funeral will be Wednesday June 19, 2024 at 11:00am in Corey Brian Strauch Funeral Home, 602 Birch Street, Scranton, PA 18505. Interment to follow in Abington Hills Cemetery.

A visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:00am to 11:00am in the funeral home.
