Alan Louis O'Neill

Alan Louis O’Neill, 52, of Scranton, a lifelong resident, passed away Monday evening at Geisinger Community Medical Center.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of Eugene T. O’Neill, Scranton and the late Elaine Rose Linder O’Neill. Alan was a graduate of Scranton High School and worked as a contractor and entrepreneur.

He had a deep love for traveling and embraced every opportunity to explore new places, visiting many countries throughout his life. He also enjoyed football, MMA, and spending time with those closest to him. Alan had a magnetic presence that drew people in effortlessly. He carried himself with confidence and a lighthearted sense of humor, and his energy, charm, and spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He will be remembered as someone truly unforgettable. Above all, Alan’s greatest love was his daughter, Lola. She was the center of his world and his greatest blessing. He devoted his life to her, always putting her first and surrounding her with unwavering love, support, and care. The bond they shared was unbreakable and will forever be cherished.

Surviving, in addition to his father, are his beloved daughter, Lola Elizabeth O’Neill, Waverly; his brother, David O’Neill and wife Diana, Clarks Summit. He was preceded in death by his mother and his brother, Eugene P. O’Neill.

The funeral will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the Corey Brian Strauch Funeral Home, 602 Birch Street, Scranton, PA 18505, with interment to follow in Dunmore Cemetery.

A visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
