Marie Pohutsky
Marie Pohutsky, 84 of Scranton, died Wednesday evening at the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania, Scranton. She is the widow of the late Eugene Pohutsky.
Born in Scranton daughter of the late Walter and Lydia Potts Prosachik she was a graduate of St. Peter and Paul High School. She worked as an LPN in the former Mercy Hospital and as a private duty nurse. She was a member of St. Ann’s Monastery and Shrine Basilica, Scranton.
Surviving are a daughter Susan, sons Joseph and David, sister Roymane Kroponicky; a brother Joseph Prosachik and her good friend Nancy Noll.
She was preceded in death by two sisters Dorothy Boyko and Rita Size
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Jewish home of Eastern Pennsylvania and VNA Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Marie.
A mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday at 10:00am in St. Ann’s Monastery and Shrine Basilica, 1233 St. Ann Street, Scranton, PA 18504. Interment will be private in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Corey Brian Strauch Services.
