Lynne Marie Vergnetti, 54, a lifelong resident of the Scranton area, died peacefully after a long illness Saturday night at home surrounded by her beloved family.
Born in Scranton, the daughter of Leo Vergnetti, Scranton, and Louise Viola, Dunmore, she was a graduate of North Pocono High School and attended Kings College. Before her illness, she was the founder and operator of Rent-A-Wife cleaning service, and manager of Wings Restaurant at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Airport.
Lynne’s beauty was only matched by her contagious laughter. She had a smile that would light up a room. Her greatest joy was the birth of her grandchildren, she loved spending time with them. She expressed love for her family through preparing and sharing great meals together. She was a fantastic cook and immaculate homemaker. She enjoyed attending music festivals with “her Wally,” solving crossword puzzles, coloring, dancing and watching old TV shows. Long live the beauty and love that Lynne gave to us all. We’re really, really, really going to miss her.
Surviving in addition to her parents are three sons, Joseph Roscioli and wife, Stephanie, Duryea; Marco Roscioli and wife, Sarah, Spring Brook Twp.; Nicholas Roscioli and wife, Brenda, Old Forge; sisters, Marissa Vergnetti (Rich McIlhenny), Philadelphia; Aviana Vergnetti, Boston; brothers, Tony Vergnetti (Patty), Dunmore; Brock Brennan, Virginia; Gian Vergnetti (Alexis Anselmi), Philadelphia; Angelo Vergnetti, California; four grandchildren, Joseph, Avarie, Ella and Giavanna Roscioli; her paternal grandmother, Angeline Vergnetti, Scranton; and Lynne’s soul-mate and long-time companion, Wally Alapic, Avoca; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Adonizio and VNA Hospice for their support in her final days
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 12:30 p.m. in the St. Paul of the Cross Parish, Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary Church, 1221 Prospect Ave., Scranton. Cremation took place at the Strauch Cremation Center and Crematory, Gouldsboro.
