Henrietta Sonntag

Henrietta Sonntag, 83, of Scranton, passed away Christmas day (12-25-2021) after a lengthy illness but ultimately succumbed to the damages of Covid 19. She was surrounded by family in her final days.
Born and raised in Moosic, Pa she was the daughter of the late Henry and Veronica Kozlowski. She was a 1955 graduate of Moosic High School, a proud member of their Drill Team and a long time member of St. Paul of the Cross Church, Scranton. She worked at Northwestern Mutual, Lenahan and Dempsey and after a brief retirement worked at Aramark by choice.
Henrietta was passionate about working in her much loved gardens alongside her husband, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, playing with her two cats and frequently going to the movies. She also loved to travel especially to the beach and New York City.
Her heartfelt advice, humor, artistic ability and love for family and friends will be deeply missed.
Surviving are the love of her life George Sonntag, children Eric Lannak, Glenside, Christine Lannak, Old Forge, Shela Lannak-Rabenold and husband James, Palmerton; grandchildren Portia and Alex and many cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday January 5, 2022 at 10:30m in St. Paul of the Cross Parish, 1217 Prospect Ave., Scranton, PA 18505.
A memorial visitation will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 9-10:30am in the Corey Brian Strauch Funeral Home, 602 Birch Street, Scranton, PA 18505.
