Grover Keiper

Grover N. Keiper, 67, of Scranton, died Thursday evening March 15 at home. He and his wife, Sharon Marie Hoffman, were married 33 years

Born in Scranton, son of the late Grover C. and Margaret Sandy Keiper he was a 1969 graduate of West Scranton High School. He later went on to Graduate from the former Keystone Junior College with an Associate’s degree and then continued on and graduated in 1985 from Wilkes University with a Bachelors of Arts. He was a Social Case worker until his retirement and was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.

Grover was a very kind and caring husband, brother, co-worker and friend. He had great compassion for his clients. He was an avid sportsman and military history enthusiast. He traveled extensively throughout the Northeast and Walt Disney World and Florida. Grover assisted Sharon with numerous Belgian Malinois dog rescue activities throughout his life. He helped with training two of them to become certified therapy dogs with Therapy Dogs International.

Surviving in addition to his wife Sharon are two Malinois fur babies, Luna and Rain; sisters Donna Dolinish and husband Jody, Moscow, Debra Keiper and companion Dave, Scranton, Meryl Sewter and husband John, Chicago; brothers Robert Keiper and wife Mable and John Keiper and wife Mary Beth, Scranton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother Richard T. Keiper.

Funeral services will be held Saturday (April 7, 2018) at 10:00am in the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 232 Wyoming Ave, Scranton, PA 18503. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:00am to 9:45am in the church.
