Grace E. Schwenker
Grace E. Schwenker, 93, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Sunday evening at Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit, Dunmore.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Ulrich and Elizabeth Nape Schwenker she was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. She retired from City Hall, Scranton and previously had worked for Haddon Craftsmen. She was a member of Hickory Street Presbyterian Church, Scranton.
She is survived by nieces Karen Lutz, Scranton, Marge Schwenker, Clarks Summit, Linda Wachs, Moscow and a nephew Wayne Beck and wife Kathy, Scranton; and great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by sisters Mildred Spindler and husband Gustave, Ella “Tootie” Beck and husband George; a brother William Schwenker and wife Alice, nephew William Schwenker,and friend Mike Schneider.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 am in the Corey Brian Strauch Services, LLC, funeral home location, 602 Birch Street, Scranton. PA 18505, by the Rev Clinton Randall, pastor of Hickory Street Presbyterian Church. Interment to follow in Dunmore Cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of services in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hickory Street Presbyterian Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
