Denise E. Salembier of Scranton, Pa., passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022, in Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, Pa. She was the wife of Joyce Carbone Rizzolo.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Richard and Marilyn Hunter Salembier. She was an avid fan and possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of classic Hollywood films. She also loved all things Christmas, the Buffalo Bills, her pets Murphy and Socks, genealogy and ancestry, and coffee.
Surviving are her children, Peter Rizzolo, of Scranton, Pa.; Brian Rizzolo, of Eatontown, N.J.; Russell and Cheryl de Moose, of Montclair, N.J.; Milissa Rizzolo and Russell Patchell, of Westville, N.J.; Daniel Rizzolo, of Eatontown, N.J.; Rachel de Moose and Marc Squicciarini, of Macungie, Pa.; siblings, Richard and Christine Salembier, of Williamsville, N.Y.; Sharon Salembier and Roslyn Weber, of Troy, N.Y.; her grandchildren, Alanna Giacona, Ryan Pomales, Logan Rizzolo, Cynthia Rizzolo, Russell Patchell Jr., Dominick Rizzolo, Loretta de Moose, Noah Patchell and Reid Squicciarini.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3, at the Corey Brian Strauch Funeral Home, 602 Birch St., Scranton, PA 18505.
A visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
