Barbro Hedvall Whitman, 90, a resident of West Scranton, died Sunday evening, Jan. 14, 2018 at Abington Manor, Clarks Summit.
Born Sept. 14, 1927, in Rattvik, Sweden, she was the daughter of the late Sivert Hedvall and Maria Daniels Hedvall of Rattvik, Sweden. Barbro married Edward Eugene Whitman of Scranton on Aug. 31, 1947 and emigrated to the United States. In 1977 Barbro become a Naturalized U.S citizen. A homemaker, Barbro dedicated her whole life to her family and extended family. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother and friend.
Surviving are son, Robert Whitman, of Scranton; son, Roy Whitman, of Scranton; daughter, Gail Whitman Rohland, of Scranton; granddaughter, Theresa Rohland Sherman and spouse, James Sherman, of Scranton; granddaughter, Olivia Rohland, of Scranton; and a brother, Tommy Hedvall, of Rattvik, Sweden.
There will be no viewing or calling hours. Interment of Abington Hills Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family.
