Arthur F. McConnell, 89, of Scranton, died Monday morning at Linwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Scranton.
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey son of the late Edward and Catherine Probst McConnell he was a graduate of Ferris High School in Jersey City, NJ. For many years he worked as printer press man for the New York Post. He was a member of the Liederkranz Club, Tarus Club and the Waldorf Club. He was also a member of St. Peter’s Cathedral, Scranton.
Surviving are a daughter Jennifer Orvis; sons Arthur F. McConnell, Jr. and Christopher McConnell; a sister Corrine Kerod; brothers Edward and John McConnell; a niece and caregiver Linda Jensen.
He was preceded in death by a son Patrick McConnell, sisters Dorothy, Marilyn and Claire.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00am in the St. John Neumann Parish, Nativity Church, 633 Orchard Street, Scranton, PA 18505. Interment to follow in Dunmore Cemetery.
A visitation will be held Thursday from 9-9:45am in the church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Corey Brian Strauch Services, LLC, funeral home location 602 Birch Street, Scranton, PA 18505.
