Arlene M. Cook
Arlene M. Cook, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Monday at Mountain View Rehab and Care Center.
Born Feb. 7, 1931 in Scranton, daughter of the late Clarence and Hilda Ordnung Cook, she was a devout Christian all her life, teaching Sunday School classes and singing in choirs. She was a member of the former Bethany Baptist Church and later in life was a member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church in Scranton. She worked for the International Correspondence School until 1998.
Surviving are a sister, Janice Sadowski and her husband, Stan; and six cousins and their spouses.
Cremation was under the direction of Corey Brian Strauch Services LLC, funeral home location, 602 Birch St., Scranton. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
The family requests memorial contributions be made in memory of Arlene to St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 425 Jefferson Ave., Scranton, PA 18510.
